I have been a professional arts administrator (it’s like an MBA but with a focus on cultural organizations) and working in the nonprofit sector for the past 20 years. During that time, we have had three children who are now 117, 13, and 8. I have started two of my four career jobs with a breast pump in hand and I learned quickly not to put my work clothes on until I was about to walk out the door. I am grateful for my wonderful husband and our quirky family. Every day is full of responsibilities, memories, love, and sometimes frustration and tears.
This blog was born (and sat on for..ahem…a really long time. Hey, I am a working mom and blogging wasn’t a priority) after reading Anne-Marie Slaughter’s 2012 Atlantic article “Why Women Still Can’t Have it All”. As a working mom, I have always said, “I may not have it all, but I can have it almost!”.
